A strong market affinity when Stretch Group’s SAP experts visited Walldorf

For the Stretch Group, it all began with SAP. Since 2002 we have enjoyed a close partnership with SAP, and as we’ve evolved we have grown closer to SAP and its products. As we now embark on a joint promotion of the S/4HANA Cloud business system in Scandinavia, we are happy to be doing so together;

We feel like we’re prioritised by SAP, and there is a mutual desire to work closely together and share knowledge, victories and setbacks.We’re a priority for each other, and this is the key to our successful partnership

says Malin Anjou, Managing Director of Stretch Evolve

Close to our market – developing business capabilities, together

The Stretch Group’s S/4HANA Cloud initiative was kick-started with a trip to Heidelberg and Walldorf in Germany, the very heart of SAP. The aim of the trip was to get close to our market and our partner, and also to bring our Gothenburg and Stockholm personnel together, so we could all get to know each other and create value for our clients and the new initiative.

Enhancing our knowledge, forging contacts and building relations with SAP – all these things are very important to us. We learn from each other and create an even better foundation to help our clients – to develop their business capabilities and competitiveness

says David Glans, Managing Director of Stretch Gothenburg

The trip began with a full day at SAP headquarters in Walldorf, including development sessions on S/4HANA Cloud, Business Technology Platform, Fiori, and deep dives into industrial solutions for the automotive industry, retail and growth companies. We also had time for a visit to the SAP Experience Centre, where SAP demonstrates the value of digitalisation through all corporate processes.

“It was the first time SAP welcomed such a large group, and it was great that it was us. We listened to some of SAP’s most brilliant minds and met the people who know all about how things could develop in the future. It’s great for our hearts and our minds, boosting our knowledge in a way that we can pass on to our clients. I’m so grateful to SAP for that,” says Malin.

Different individuals, the same drive

It was also valuable to spend time together across company boundaries within the Stretch Group, and all of the Friday was about socialising, creating, and learning from each other.

“We’re all so different, from our fashion to our outdoor life, from heavy metal to classical music, some people like football, others like jigsaw puzzles, another might be a coffee nerd – but we all come together around our market. Every one of us is passionate about creating business value through SAP, and that’s a great thing to see,” David continues.

Malin adds:

“When you gain new knowledge, it becomes unique in each individual. In these discussions and deep dives, everyone has a particular speciality, a certain number of years’ experience, working with different clients and projects. We all have our own experiences and personalities. Consequently we all interpret the same information differently, which gives us a broad foundation of take-aways from a whole range of different client perspectives.”

We’ll be doing that again!

In conclusion, it is clear that a trip like this, prior to a joint initiative, builds culture and a sense of pride in representing a knowledgeable organisation with a strong partnership – like the Stretch Group and SAP.  All of the 60 Stretch personnel who were on the trip now feel a stronger affinity with our market than ever before. This may have been the first time we visited Walldorf, but it won’t be the last time we make a trip like this together.
